The aims of the Foundation

(as set in the Statute of the Foundation)

 

The Foundation has been established with the following  permanent aim, serving public interest: it supports financially the scientific activity and research of János Kornai (including the work of the those who cooperate with him on his research), the publication of his research findings in Hungary and abroad, and his teaching, educative and professional-cum-public activities, and furthermore, to prepare accounts and evaluations of his work.

After the death of János Kornai, the aims of the Foundation will be to support financially the publication of his research findings in Hungary and abroad, to manage his works, to offer instruction in his scientific findings, to organize scientific events relating to his works, and to prepare researches into the works of János Kornai, and accounts and evaluations of them.

The services of the Foundation are open-ended. Anyone may use the results of its activity in ways defined by the Foundation's Advisory Board. The Foundation may secondarily and as required engage in commercial activity found or operate a scientific unit in order to promote the aims, tasks and activities above, in ways that do not impede its primary activity.
